black lines from a PLW NTR

Within the last few days my Personal LaserWriter NTR has been generating random horizontal black lines across the pages that it prints. The lines are about 1/8 to 3/16 inches high, and many, but not all, include vertically compressed excerpts from the top of the text of the document, say, the first line of my letterhead. The printer has only 3 megs of memory, and I'm currently using a toner cartridge that I re-filled using toner that I found on eBay. The printer has printed approximately 62,780 pages.
I printed some samples and mailed them to a local technician. He says that the problem is probably a small thing between the printer and the cartridge. He says that would be the first thing to look at. If that isn't the problem, maybe I need a new cartridge. He wouldn't tell me what the thing is. Does anyone know?

In case anyone is curious, I report here on how it turned out. First I bought a new cartridge from fixyourownprinter.com. Well, the old cartridge did run out of ink. But the lines continued. Moe said that the problem was that the gears weren't lifting the shutter over the roller. The paper was bunching up against closed shutter and couldn't go through. That's why the printer was jamming all the text into near-solid lines on the paper. I bought from Moe a replacement gear-set. These are the gears on the right side of the printer. I installed the kit, but the problem persisted. I turned off the printer and stood it on the floor on its back side to get it out of the way. For three or four weeks I used my backup inkjet. One day, out of curiosity, I hooked up the LaserWriter again to see what would happen, and it worked. It's been working just fine for two weeks now. Don't know what to make of that.
Now where can I find a 2-meg SIMM for the unit? I tried to use the SIMMS from a Mac 6115, but they don't work.
